| Introduction | After graduating from Cornell University in 1983, I started Vanderwoude Construction Company in Central New Hampshire in 1987. During the first few years I built retirement communities and small shopping centers. When in the early 1990s the market for commercial construction took a "downturn", building Fine Quality Homes became the main focus.
