Introduction I am a first year PhD student in the Wind Science and Engineering program at Texas Tech University. I am originally from Elyria, OH and obtained a B.S. in Meteorology from Valparaiso University in 2009, and completed an internship at Texas Tech during my undergraduate studies in the summer of 2008. My primary research interest lies in storm mitigation, in particular, the impacts of hurricanes on coastal communities. I participated in two convective field studies while at Valparaiso University where my teams studied convective storms for 11 days in the field. Since arriving at Texas Tech, I have assisted in the construction of StickNet probe 0225B. During my first field research project at Texas Tech, VORTEX2, I will be a member of StickNet team 4, and will work with Tanya to make probe deployments.
