Introduction	Councillor Ronnie Crawford has represented Lisburn North on Lisburn City Council since 1989. He spent his entire career in the insurance industry as a Senior Injury Claims Negotiator and also founded a small family-run printing business in Lisburn city centre. Ronnie was born and bred in the Lagan Valley area and at present lives just outside Dromore in Co. Down. His grandfather, Samuel Crawford moved from Kilmacrennan in Co. Donegal in the late 19th Century and became the headmaster of Ballykeel School, outside Hillsborough. Ronnie has played a very active part in strongly opposing the new rating system and water tax, representing Lisburn City Council at numerous seminars and conferences during the consultative process on both issues. His particular interest is in public finance and he is disappointed that the unending stream of new taxes has not been reflected commensurately in improved public services. He feels that too much of taxpayers money is being squandered carelessly and sees a great need to scrutinize public expenditure and hold those responsible for wasting public funds to account.
