Introduction	I'm a retired educator with a passion for history, living happily on the west coast of Türkiye with my wife, dog, and, yes, two cats in the yard. I hope to spend the rest of my natural born life exploring the history of the world, starting right here in my own backyard. And as I explore, one of my hopes is to learn from the places I visit, and, maybe, just maybe, to use what I learn here in the present, whether it be something as fun and light as learning about the food and recipes of the time, or as heavy as the relative success of building walls to keep people out (or in).
