| Introduction | With nearly 30 years experience in the golf industry, Coach Lawton has been a PGA Professional for 23 years. From 1997-2003, Coach Lawton was the Senior Manager/Director of Golf at Regent Park Golf Club in Fort Mill, SC. During his time at Regent Park, the club was voted the Best in Charlotte 5 times and received Four Stars in Golf Digest Places To Play. Coach Lawton was a regular on NBC6 TV providing golf tips on air. Since 2004, he has been Head Men's and Women's Golf Coach at USC Upstate in Spartanburg, SC. USC Upstate is a member of the Big South Conference, NCAA Division I. Coach Lawton's teams have won more than 18 Team Championships, 30 Individual Championships and a men's team runner-up finish at the 2007 Men's NCAA DII National Championship. With more than 125 All-Academic Conference performers and 10 National All-American Scholars, Coach Lawton's programs represent well on and off the course! Coach Lawton is blessed in marriage with his wife of 24 years, Laura. The couple have a son, Drew, who is a student at Clemson University. |
| Interests | PGA TOUR, For the past 18 years, he has been the Co-Chair of the Practice Facility at the Wells Fargo PGA Tournament in Charlotte and also headed a committee for the practice facility at the 2017 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Golf Club. |
