Favorite Movies my favorite film: I love certain certain movies for different reasons in different contexts. I love Star Wars because it defines a big part of my childhood. It is, in my opinion, a timeless film. I love The Right Stuff, The Big Chill, E.T., The Black Stallion, and Chariots of Fire because these were movies that were introduced to me very early in my life by my parents. Yes, The Big Chill when I was just seven years old (Actually, I didn't see that one in the theater so it's likely I was nine or so when we got it on Videodisc). I remember being in the theater for The Right Stuff . Halfway through, the movie stopped. I thought it broke. Many people left. It was intermission. Remember that? When it came back on I was mesmerized. Again, at this time, I was just seven years old. It remains to be one of my favorites. The Goonies is a film that I've likely watched the most, literally well over a hundred times. That was my childhood. My friends and I would go into my dark basement of my childhood home and make neverending sequels. I was always Mikey. I can list others like Raiders of the Lost Ark, Aliens, Jaws, The Thing, The Terminator, etc. I can then look at films from my adult life and choose Good Will Hunting, Memento, Magnolia, 40 Year Old Virgin, Jerry Maguire, etc. It's an impossible question to answer. They are all "my babies". They all touch me in different ways. I'm drawn to them because of their genres, because of where I was in life when they debuted, and because of what mode I'm in at any given time.
Favorite Music I think my favourite type of music would have to be folk-rock, especially the kind that's got a kind of hippyish vibe - bands like Fleet Foxes and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. I also really like older rock and pop-rock, like The Beatles and Bowie. I'm a music student so I'm a total classical know-it-all as well!
Favorite Books my favorite books: cooking books, novel, and comic.
