| Introduction | Hi! I’m Mila Vanilla, I love food and dig cooking it, I’ve broken into Dirk’s Pants so I can pass on some gastrosonix to y’all. Because everyone at Dirk’s place is always broke, we’ve had to learn to get by on pretty limited resources at times, but because we weren’t prepared to let the quality of our food become a casualty, we got pretty inventive in the kitchen instead. Our kitchen is pretty basic too, big, but basic, and because of it we’ve invented some neat ways around regular cooking techniques, it’s a little subversive at times, but it works. Almost everything we cook in the house costs less than $10, and a lot of it costs less than $5 and that isn’t per head, that’s to feed whoever‘s here. So, if you’re like us and are short of a few bucks and/or don’t have a super kitted out kitchen, it doesn’t mean you have to compromise on what you eat, and this column will prove it, it’ll show you how to make basic stuff taste great.
