| Introduction | I am a hugger. Back in the 1980's I ran a singing telegram business delivering Hug-Grams by Cuddles the Huggy Bear. At the request of a client I visited a local nursing home as Cuddles the Bear and my life was changed forever. I developed a wellness program for the elderly in senior care facilities called Operation; HUG DAY and in 1989 established the Hugs for Health Foundation and implemented the Hug Squad Volunteer Program. Unfortunately, after 9/11 support dropped dramatically and my circumstances changed and the foundation went to the way side. It is still very important to me and I hope to one day re-establish and fund the Foundation. In the meantime, I've decided to share my hugs and knowledge through this blog and at our Facebook Page. http://facebook.com/hugs4health |
