Introduction I'm a Duluth native, and I've taught English at Marshall School since 1997. I also was the Advisor for the Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) there for many years. My graduate degrees in English Literature are from SUNY Buffalo, where I specialized in the 19th century British novel and wrote my dissertation on Dickens. These days, I'm obsessed with orchids--Lady Slippers, especially.
Favorite Music Anything by Bach, but especially the cantatas and oratorios; anything by Handel, but especially the oratorios and opera; anything by Mozart, but especially the operas and sacred works; anything by Vivaldi, but especially the sacred works...you get the idea.
Favorite Books Favorite Mystery Writers: Donna Leon (Guido Brunetti series), Patricia Highsmith (Tom Ripley series), and Eliot Pattison (Inspector Shan series). Some Books I Reread Frequently: Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and Smiley's People (John LeCarre); The Sparrow and Children of God (Mary Doria Russell); Turtle Diary (Russell Hoban). Favorite Shakespeare Sonnets: #29, followed closely by #61.
