Introduction	I am Publius. But this blog is not about me; it is about citizenship and vigilance. It is about seeking out the facts, evaluating them, and drawing your own conclusions, not accepting those given to you by politicians or the media. And it is about keeping our elected officials accountable. These are difficult times for our country. Leaders from all points on the political compass are appealing to us to trust them and to give them "blank checks" to fix the problems that for the most part they created. They are subtly saying to us that the problems are too complicated for us to understand, as are the fixes. On this premise, they just ignore the public will because "we the people" don't know what is good for us or for the country. This is not the government that the founding fathers envisioned. In this blog I will ask questions and attempt to provide the best thinking on both sides of issues. I will explore the uncertain world of communicating with our leaders to find the best vechicles for making our will known. And I will urge you to tell our leaders what you think, even though I believe that they really don't want our opinions or really care what they are.
