Introduction Sometimes, when I hear a person say that she is a 'book lover', I feel like saying "That's good darling. Now why don't you go find yourself a quiet corner to start reading one and leave us adults in peace for a while to continue our conversation?" Why would I want to say something so nasty, even subconsciously? Is it because "Mein Kampf" is a book . . as are many other unlikable tomes? No. It is because I am at heart an editor. I spend a good deal of my professional life excising trite expressions, clichés and incomodious allocutions (like these last two words). Thus, as I work on this blog, I will be attempting to unwind from my occupational deformity, which is my tendency to be overly concise, excessively laconic. After all, in a blog world, nobody forces you to be trite. They just, somehow, come to expect it of you. * * Welcome to Cheap Priceless Editions 888888888888888888 Cy Butterfield

Why don't you ever wear a scarf? It doesn't need to be cold outside for your neck to feel naked.

I lost every scarf in some dark places and think someone is stalking, not me, but all my winter outwear . . and one out of every pair of socks I own.
