| Introduction | Hello, I'm Laura. I am an illustrator, animator (only specialises on 2-D drawing) and craft artist based in Northamptonshire. I graduated with a BA in Illustration from the University of Northampton in 2015. I am interested, as well as passionate obsession, in nature especially the British landscape and the close observation of birds. I work with various media to produce drawings, prints, animations and sculptures that explore, express and communicate nature. That's my illustration style! The influences of my work are the concepts and depictions of the nature/natural world in the traditional Japanese artistic style, nature literature, especially poems by John Clare, and Kristjana S Williams’ work. The story of my childhood; born and grew up in small towns of Northamptonshire. I was diagnosed with hearing loss as a very young child. When I was a little girl, I always loved art, and I was obsessed by my books on children’s art. |
