| Introduction | Yogis have quite the reputation in Los Angeles. It's commonly assumed that we're all vegetarians; living off a diet of kale, coconut water, and kombucha; That our cars are all hybrids, and even our bed linens are Lululemon. But yoga is more than a culture or a workout. To me, yoga is a combination of discipline, nourishment, and creative expression. And when I'm in the kitchen, I feel the same way. I believe food should be a deliberate choice. And there's no better way to guarantee the quality of your food, than to cook it yourself. What I eat, and how I practice yoga are profoundly connected. And when I shared a granola recipe with some fellow yogis, I learned that we all want foods that won't interfere, or might even possibly enhance our yoga practice. Soon everyone was asking for my recipe, and so as I formed this site as a way to share my healthful cooking adventures with fellow yogis, vegetarians, and the like*. While there is some truth to the LA yogi reputation, there is a method in the madness. This blog was created because: what you put in your body effects what happens on your mat. *you do not have to practice yoga to read this blog. |
