| Introduction | A former four-year contributing sports writer for The Gannon Knight, Alexander covered men’s and women’s soccer, men’s basketball, football, water polo and wrestling. Her weekly column, “Inside the Locker Room,” focused on the successes, struggles and everyday common occurrences of being a student-athlete at the collegiate level. Alexander’s writing has been published in Gannon Magazine, Onondaga Community College’s 2009 Annual Report and Central New York’s Sports Magazine. She has worked the men’s and women’s high school lacrosse beat for The Eagle Newspaper (Syracuse, N.Y.) covering regular season games, sectional playoffs and the women’s New York State Championships at SUNY Cortland. While in college, Alexander worked for the Erie Times (Erie, Pa) as an evening stringer, writing briefs and recording high school scores. Born and raised in Syracuse, N.Y., Alexander earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism-communications from Gannon University in 2009. Alexander was also a member of Gannon University’s lacrosse program from 2005-2009 where she served as a starter on defense and team captain her senior year. |
