| Introduction | I've lived in Maine all my life. I worked at Home Care for Maine for five and a half years. On March 2nd of 2009, I started a new job with an Alpha One consumer. In the fall of 2009, I completed a 200 hour CNA course through Augusta Adult Ed and the VA at Togus, adding another facet to my Direct Care career. I really enjoy the work I do. I like helping others. Helping our elders and those with disabilities stay home, independent and out of nursing homes is deeply rewarding for me. It is a shame that our pay and lack of benefits do not reflect how crucial our work is. |
