| Introduction | Sean Lahman has authored or edited several books on sports history, including the ESPN Pro Football Encyclopedia. Since 2003, he has covered professional football as a columnist for the New York Sun. Lahman was a contributor to the last three editions of both Total Baseball and the ESPN Baseball Encyclopedia, and developed statistical content for groundbreaking tennis and basketball encyclopedias. In 1998, Lahman founded the Football Project, an organization of researchers dedicated to collecting and digitizing play-by-play accounts of pro football games. His most recent book, The Pro Football Historical Abstract, will be published by Lyons Press in 2007. |
