| Introduction | I am the First Lord of the Manor of Philipsburg, a social feat I achieved after immigrating to New Amsterdam from Friesland, Netherlands in the mid-1600s. My family was one of the wealtiest in New Amsterdam/New York during the colonial era, and in my lifetime, my family and I acquired one third of Westchester County, large tracts of land in Duchess, Putnam and Bergin Counties, a plantation in Barbados, and multiple townhouses and warehouses in NYC. |
