| Introduction | I grew up in Cherry Hill, NJ (a suburb of Philadelphia), and came to Boston in 1986 when I enrolled in Emerson College. Upon graduating in 1990 with the expectation of getting into the advertising business, I instead worked as a court reporter for several years (Advertising was a tough field here in 1990). The day after graduation, I began a part time job at Beacon Hill Video, to keep myself in free movies and feed my love of film. I bought the shop a few years later, where I remained until August of 2007... |
| Interests | Primarily interested in movies and books... Travel.. Not a groundbreaking list of interests... |
| Favorite movies | On The Waterfront/ Some Like It Hot/ Jaws/ LA Confidential/ 9 to 5/ Young Frankenstein/ From Here To Eternity/ Pillow Talk/ Alien/ Postcards From the Edge/ Broadcast News/ Double Indemnity/ any and all classic Noirs and Screwball Comedies... |
| Favorite music | Partial to all things 80s, particularly PowerPop and New Wave as opposed to Hair Metal, etc. Blondie, Ramones, GoGos, Madonna, etc., as well as anything that would turn up on the soundtrack to a John Hughes film. Beyond that, I like jazz and standards (big band stuff, primarily, as well as vocalists from Sinatra to Sarah Vaughan), and have lately been listening to some Country, too. I guess the longer you are out of high school, the greater the odds that that will eventually happen! |
| Favorite books | Huge genre fiction fan... I average a book or two a week, and am partial to writers like Harlan Coben, Robin Cook, Janet Evanovich, James Patterson, Jeffery Deaver, etc etc. |
