Introduction I am so grateful to have taught school for almost 30 years. Needless to say, I am a seasoned teacher! However, I am still energized and excited about each new year. In July of 2011, I completed my Masters of Educational Psychology and Research. This has opened the door more for me, as an educator, to use the most current and best teaching practices for my learners. Teaching has opened many doors for me actually. As a free lance writer, I have had the opportunity to work for several educational companies; Milliken, Instructional Fair, and Frank Schaeffer Publications in various capacities. It has been such a privilege to help develop supplemental educational materials for both children and educators. Among my favorite being the children's music I have written and recorded in both California and here in Memphis, TN.
Interests Here is a list of some of my favorite things.... Art - drawing and painting Playing the piano and guitar, songwriting, Children's literature and Children's Music - LOVE IT!!!!
Favorite Movies Some of my favorite children's movies are The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, Bambi, Fievel, Toy Story and Finding Nemo. I see as many children's movies as time allows. They are so entertaining and I am so impressed with the artwork.
Favorite Music I am also a BIG fan of children's music. My philosophy is that we as adults need to provide children with this genre of music as long as we can. It is wholesome, clean, entertaining, educational and helps to develop vocabulary and language skills. I am also a children's songwriter. I have written over 50 children's songs and have recorded 4 children's CD's. Music is also a teaching tool and is incorporated into my curriculum daily. Some of my favorite songs are by various children's artists such as Ella Jenkins and Hap Palmer
Favorite Books I am a lover of children's literature. I have even authored a couple of children's books; The Beluga Whale and Grandmother's Visit. However, my favorite books to read to my students are; Ruby the Copycat, Miss Bindergarten Goes to Kindergarten, The Teeny Tiny Teacher and The Runaway Bunny.

Where does the time go?
