| Introduction | I hope you like Neil Denham's atmospheric photograph on my home page and this one of me on a windy day at the Northumberland County Show in the sheep pens. Typical of my life, the life of a country rector -- which is what this blog will be partly about. Please also look at the events page to see what's going on in the area served by the churches of North Tyne and Redesdale in Northumberland. Formal worship is just one part of my ministry. My whole ministry since ordination in 1993 has been rural. Mine was a late vocation after a fifteen-year career as an academic phonetician at University College London, work to which I travelled from a farm in Kent. |
