Introduction	I am an Assistant Professor of English at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. I also teach literature courses for Tiffin University. I earned a MFA from Hamline University. I write for children and young adults [not because the law school/one shot at being a bikini model at the Clevelander in South Beach/professional wine taster gigs never worked out]. More about those later. I write for the ten year-old Mellisa--the girl who had lots of questions, better ones than her twenty-nine year old version with gray hair. Don't ask. I'm a draft. We're all drafts.
Interests	Reading, writing, teaching, vino, my bro and sisters, friends, my dog, the ocean, Europe, high thread count sheets, key lime pie, oyster roasts, laughing, making my own decisions, antiques, cameo, ETSY.com, dinner parties, giving, charities (legit. ones), literary theory, the craft, studying the craft, honing the craft, and enjoying the privilege of having learned from the most erudite and accomplished faculty on the planet at Hamline University (MFAC program).
