Introduction | Jose Varghese (1976 -) is a bilingual writer/translator from Kerala. He is the founder and chief editor of Lakeview Journal and Strands Publishers, and a contributing editor for Panorama: The Journal of Intelligent Travel. Silver Painted Gandhi and Other Poems is his first book. A second poetry collection is scheduled for publication in 2021 by The Black Spring Press Group. He was a finalist in the 2020 London Independent Story Prize and the Beverly International Prize 2018 (for his short fiction manuscript In/Sane), a runner up in the Salt Flash Fiction Prize, and was commended in Gregory O'Donoghue International Poetry Prize. His works have appeared in Meridian, The Best Asian Short Story Anthology, Dreich, The Salt Anthology of New Writing, Unthology 5, Unveiled, Reflex Fiction, Chandrabhaga, Kavya Bharati, Postcolonial Text , Bengaluru Review, Retreat West, and Flash Fiction Magazine.
