Introduction | Since my earliest childhood memory I have recorded my human experience visually. Creating images was a creative outlet as well as a means of clearer communication with the world around me. Through this visual communication, I was able to show others a window into my soul and see the world through my eyes. Creative outlet and clear communication continue to be the driving forces for me to create art today. The images I create are very close to my personal principles and interests and are largely autobiographical. At the same time however, I choose to paint memories or themes from my life that are universal human experiences and speak to as many individuals as possible, regardless of incongruities in personal backgrounds. Much of my work involves themes of history, generation, childhood, respect, aging, tradition, and spirituality. I try to paint subject matter that is illustrative of contemporary issues, both regional and global, calling for positive change and introspection of those who view my work. |
