| Introduction | Attempting to make some record of what has survived of our youthful optimism, we have decided to join the world of internet blogging. Originally a zine put out by Jamil Mahmood and Chad Hagen back in early 2000, Vent was an outlet for us to share our personal thoughts, frustrations and interests as they were shaped by the suburban high school landscape. While often misguided and poorly written, Vent was always honest and it captured two kids trying to find a voice we could be proud of. After many half-hearted discussions about reviving a print version of Vent, we are pleased to present Vent: the blog. We are now joined by our old friend, Greg Querel, who always should have been part of the project, for this foray into online exhibitionism. While we don't promise anything groundbreaking, or even particularly intelligent, we will do our best to honestly convey our loves, concerns and general ruminations as they continue to be shaped by the spaces we inhabit. |
