| Introduction | My name is Annette Grefig. I have been dancing for over 17 years and I hope to continue dancing until I am unable to move, which hopefully will be a very long time. I started dancing at The Dance Academy, Ltd and then moved to study at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. In college, my idea of what dance is changed. We do not only study dance to learn how to do turns, jumps, leaps, etc, but to be able to use your body as a tool to express ideas, thoughts, and feelings. Having the understanding of what your body is supposed to do and what it is capable of gives you a better understanding of yourself. Dance interests me because everyone does it. It is us, the dancers, who appreciate it and value it as much as it should be. After graduating from UW-Milwaukee, I hope to move to a different city and experience dancing in a different place with different people. |
