Introduction	I am married to Carina and we have two girls. We've been living in Waterloo since 2004 where I've been on staff at Creekside Church. In 2012 I was blessed to be able to take a 3-month break, or 'sabbatical', from my regular work. This blog was originally called "The Sabbatical Diaries" and documented that experience, including our one-month family visit to Quito, Ecuador. I have been back at Creekside since August 2012 but I also continue to be involved with our sister church in Ecuador. These days I am exploring what it means to live out Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight."

Favorite movies	too many to name! LOTR is still near the top of the list.
Favorite music	Sting, Coldplay, Enya, Vangelis, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, jazz, movie soundtracks, really, the list goes on and on.
Favorite books	The Bible, The Alchemist by Paolo Coelho, Michael Sharra's Civil War novels, Fugitive Pieces by Anne Michaels, some Steinbech, St. Francis by Kazantzakis, The Seven Storey Mountain by Merton, The Way of a Pilgrim, the list goes on and on and on . . .
