| Introduction | I am a fifth year graduate student in the UCSD Psychology Department (Behavioral Neuroscience). My very first mentor once said to me that he always looked forward to going to work in the morning and looked forward to returning to his family by day's end. Ever since then, that has been my overarching goal in life. My research interests are specifically in circadian rhythms and biological effects of light, with experience studying both human and animal models. I am just beginning the job search myself, with a preference for finding a tenure-track junior faculty position where I can extend upon the work I've done examining the effects of light history on circadian response in humans and/or animals as well as to begin exploring new directions, such as studying sleep in children with autism. However, I am open to other options that might also be a good fit. I am hopeful that the help and support of peers in this club will make the entire process less painful and more successful for all of us. Best of luck to you in your own search for happiness! |
