Introduction	This is my attempt at an artist statement with out starting off with "my art is.." or some form of that.Growing up I used humor to cover up my negative emotions as it was often looked down upon by some of my family members. This form of self-survival soon found it's way into my art and I started using bright colours a and happy imagery to portray my dark themes. I believe that most people that don't understand things like depression, want to cover it up with a preverbal "happy face" sticker. For the longest time I was using markers and pencil crayons since they were readily available at the time, but have since moved on to exploring other media. While traditional media is still my favourite, I am starting to try digital painting and finding that the ability to "undo" a mistake with a click of a button is most desirable.
