Introduction | I'm a stay-at-home mom of four young ones aiming to instill an appreciation of food and cooking in my kids, retaining all their bodily extremities and my sanity while doing so. I'm optimistic the frequent "Knives are for Mama" and "Next time, don't squeeze the egg" and "Remember, raw meat is for looking, not touching" won't discourage them from growing to enjoy working in the kitchen. I work in a small space without much fanfare - resourcefulness and frustration are often battling for supremacy. I focus on recipes that are pretty easy, relatively quick, don't require many ingredients that wouldn't normally be in a pantry, and can have some prep work done before it's time to actually cook the dish. I aim for healthy but know there are nights that "healthy" isn't going to be the priority over "easy" and "fast" and "what I think has the best chance of being consumed by at least 50% of my kids." |
