About me

IntroductionLike for many others, health problems pushed me into going gluten, dairy, meat and sugar-free. I had skin dermatitis and a really sensitive stomach as a child. In school, I’d walk around in long-sleeved tops and white cotton gloves to cover up all the rashes. I was even hospitalized when I was 11 because of my skin. I moved to New York City, and my rashes were joined by awful heartburn and eye infections. I decided to figure this mess out and put an end to it. It’s been a loooong experimentation process. I feel like a chemist. I’ve tried many diets: vegan, macrobiotic, ayurvedic, raw. I took the elements that work for me and left the rest. In a stroke of luck, I ran into a nutritionist who gave me free advice: avoid wheat, dairy and soy. Being such a food lover and passionate cook, that has been really hard. But it works for me. My dermatologist is blown away by my progress. I live in LA and work all the time. I also have a MAJOR pet peeve with the snobbery in the over-priced food industry that caters to people like us. Living healthy is not a class issue. So I’ll share recipes that are flavorful, easy, quick to make, and affordable for the single parent or starving artist!
