| Introduction | “Gumpa Choochoo” is a mostly retired Carpenter/ Joiner. He still has a small workshop and all his tools, which are now dedicated to a unique basement renovation. In the 1960’s, he took a degree in political science at SFU while attending to the demands of campus radicalism. How did he find time to write his course papers? Met his wife there and eventually they begat 5 children who are in turn begetting their own. When visiting or staying over, the grandchildren are keen to enjoy the “renovation”. All aspects of the hobby have enduring appeal to him: Hand-laying Track, Scenery building, Wiring, Operations, History, Structures and Details, Rolling Stock and Motive Power. But Benchwork - not so much. His other interests and passions are Family, Sacred Music, Sudoku, and enjoying Beautiful BC. |
