Introduction Hi, My name is Caroline! After 6 + years of exploring Vegetarianism, Veganism, and Raw Foods, I've come to my current balancing act in nutrition, and constantly strive to learn all I can. January 2011 was a big month for me. After 4 years of diminishing health for no apparent reason, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia type pain in my back, shoulders, and neck, and a huge gray cloud constantly fogging my thinking...I finally figured out via a simple blood test, that I have multiple food sensitivities that had been affecting me for who really knows how long. I don't know exactly what caused this change in my body. Could be hormones, could be dropping animal protein and good ol' saturated fats out of my diet, could be stress, who knows really. Regardless of how it happened, I'm now more determined than ever to find healing through diet. I hope you enjoy my food and health ramblings. Update: As of January 2012 I have been very closely following the GAPS diet, and principles set forth in Nourishing Traditions. If you suffer from digestive issues, or food intolerances, I encourage you to research this way of eating and see if it could help you also!
Interests Organic Gardening, Hiking, Beach Walks, dreaming of anywhere warm and carefree when it's frigid cold here in the winter...I also make poured pure beeswax candles, and am constantly fiddling with different foods, and researching various aspects of nutrition on an ongoing basis.
Favorite Movies FoodMatters, Raw for 30, Beautiful Truth, All In This Tea, and lots of random romantic comedy types. I have a thing for British accents, so anything with Colin Firth or Hugh Grant is usually a win. Oh, and though it's not a movie - How I met Your Mother...I can't help but love. Same with 30 Rock.
Favorite Music Too many to list. I can tell you I don't listen to whatever is topping the charts, but rather whatever is not corporate made boy/girl band. NPR and KEXP are some fave sources, and whatever new stuff my husband drags home on his iphone.
