| Introduction | I am a self taught artist from Knoxville, TN, near the beautiful Smokey Mountains. I have been painting for approximately 20 years. I was inspired by my daughter and my beloved Aunt "Duke" who was my mentor and a fantastic artist. She and I would take long walks in the woods at her farm. That is where we gathered the cedar limbs that would become my stick characters. Although these are my latest venture I also make canvas dolls and paint gourds. I paint lots of gourd ornaments and Santas during the Christmas season. My daughter Kim is also an accomplished artist with a vivid imagination. We compare ideas and work on many projects together. I am very grateful to my dear friend Amy who has purchased so many of my creations this past year. It is with her encouragement and support that I have started this blog and decided to sell my work online. I am very excited about having a blog to show my work and meet fellow artist.
