Barbara Flores

About me

Introduction Barbara Flores is an award winning author and playwright with three nonfiction titles. She won an IACP award nomination (International Association of Culinary Professionals) for her garden/cookbook, "The Great Book of Pears." Her memoir, "Separated, Acting Badly" was recently completed as her MFA thesis for Bennington College. Articles by Barbara Flores have been published in "More," "Diablo Magazine," "The San Francisco Chronicle," and other periodicals. She has taught writing classes for UC Berkeley Extension and St Mary’s College. Prior to her writing career, she designed over thirty internationally known food art posters including, "Chiles," for Mark Miller, "Tomatoes" for Alice Waters, and "Tropical Fruit" for Norman Van Aken. Currently Barbara's living seaside in Palm Beach, Florida.
