| Favorite Books | The Three Sisters story began in 2004 out of frustration. Three bargain-hunting home school moms just wanted to go shopping in person, rather than online, for books and supplies. The only choice at the time was to pay a double-digit admission fee, which would give them speakers, vendor workshops, and shopping. There was no shopping-only admission. Well, sitting in a room and listening to someone talk brought thoughts of "this time could be used for shopping, " yet standing around shopping brought thoughts of "I feel guilty for paying for speakers and not listening to them." And the admission fee could have been spent on books. It was a frustrating situation. The speakers and vendors hall were distractions to each other. Three Sisters quickly went to work and produced its first admission-free shopping experience for home school families in Des Moines in 2005. |
