Favorite Music ALL OF IT! FROM EVERYWHERE!!! Though I'm not particularly fond of anything that IS heavily BEAT-centric but IS NOT particularly melodic. Make no mistake; I don't mean that I dislike music that is heavily "RHYTHMIC". RHYTHMIC music is some of my favorite stuff. In fact, one of my favorite songs EVER is called POLYRHYTHM and is exactly that - poly rhythmic. It's just that I get bored when it's ALL about "percussive" details. I've been listening mostly to Asian pop and R&B music for the past few years, especially that from China and Japan. I'm interested in music from anywhere and everywhere. I LOVE a good emotionally charged MELODY, a stirring ARRANGMENT/COMPOSITION and I'm particularly fond of HIGH production value. My field of listening interests has little if any limit, it just depends on what I'm exposed to, so if you think there's something that I should be listening to, PLEASE TELL ME. I'm ALWAYS open to suggestions on new musical avenues, no matter how obscure or strange or whatever. Some examples of artists whose work and/or efforts that I hold in high regard and who reoccur in my playlist are: Yoko Kanno, Crystal Kay, MINK, Rascal Flatts, Sandy Lam (Lam Yi-Lian), Utada Hikaru, George Straitt, Destiny's Child, JOE, Imogen Heap, Fishbone, (to be continued...) I have to say, though, that if I were, for some reason, going to be sequestered away from the rest of the world's human populace and I could only have the catalogue (complete works and recordings, published and unpublished) of only ONE artist to listen to for the rest of my life... It would be Yoko Kanno. No question. I don't even have to think about it.
Favorite Books STORY by Robert McKee, The Insider's Guide to creating COMICS and GRAPHIC NOVELS by Andy Schmidt, Writing for Comics with Peter David, The Integral Trees by Larry Niven, just about anything penned by William Gibson
