| Introduction | JFSA is pleased to welcome Jewelles Smith as the Special Needs Coordinator. Jewelles will be working with families who have children with disabilities. She brings a wealth of experience gained in the disability community. Jewelles holds a Masters degree from SFU. She has an educational and professional background working with women, parents and students with disabilities. As a consultant and freelance writer, she focuses on challenges that women and families with disabilities experience with regard to employment, education, childcare, and housing. Jewelles has worked on numerous projects within and outside of the university, including with the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives (CCPA), DisAbled Women’s Network Canada (DAWN-RAFH), and Disability Rights Promotion International (DRPI). |
