| Introduction | I was born old. Everyone tells me I was late for my own birth. From earliest memory, I have loved the touching story of "The Rifleman" ~a TV Western about widowed rancher, Lucas McCain, striving to raise his son, Mark, in New Mexico Territory, 1881. My true heart swirls with the petticoats and teapots and days of laundry flapping in the breeze while a woman sat upon a porch swing to catch her breath, to read a book, to note the number of hen's eggs in her journal or write a letter home. I truly love life each day, new. I think with my fingertips dreaming on the keyboard. I love to paint. I write with the nome de plume of Margaret, Lucas' wife, and out of the spirit of their home full of love. I invite you in. Make your heart full of love and be welcome. Receive what good you will here like a bird that feeds on crumbs and makes music from them. Like the birds, Feed and Sing! |

| Favorite books | I started with Beatrix Potter's little works and my mother reading Shakepeare to me before naptime. Love poetry. Love the feel of the old press imprint. Love old journals, original and true from the heart. Love books with plots I could never have dreamed. Love any work of literature that tells a healing story and doesn't contain a "quick list" for anything inside. Neither life, nor books, should be quick. I never met a cookbook that didn't fascinate me. |

I live in the past as much as I am able; I have not cut my woman's crowning glory. Only a computer would ask me that.
