Introduction	Dog.Nerd.101 is almost two years old! A lot has changed around here and it has been a difficult year. Griff, my Hungarian Mudi who was the inspiration for this blog, was killed a tragic accident in November of 2011. There is not a moment that goes by that I don't miss him. In both his life and death, Griff taught me to live in the moment and find joy in the present. In this spirit, in March of 2011, Sophia and I welcomed another family member. Cricket is a 15 month old Border Collie that we rescued from New England Border Collie Rescue. She has brought so much joy to my life and I am grateful that she has found her way to me. I continue to explore research interests in the complexities of the human-animal bond and I have have developed a Animal Assisted Therapy Program for groups of Elementary, Middle and High School students. I am STILL an absolute, total DOG NERD. In addition to being a life-long animal lover my education is in the field of psychology and animal behavior.
