| Introduction | (Photo © Amanda Jones.) Once upon a time, I was a blogless professor at a liberal arts college, busily teaching my students, continuing to learn and perform classical piano repertoire, and generally working too much for my long-term mental health. Add a freak accident to my left wrist, shake, and Presto! there's an exuberant Icelandic Sheepdog in my life who's introduced me to the wonderful world of canine agility and many, many other things. I still teach, I still learn and perform classical piano repertoire, and I may still work too much, but I'm having a lot more fun. My blogs are dedicated to Viva, who teaches me new things on a daily basis, and to my sweetheart Hector, who puts up with me and Viva (and the things Viva teaches me on a daily basis). |

Which is easier to make a model airplane out of and why: a banana peel or a wet sock?
Definitely a banana peel. (Just 'cause.)
