Occupation Writer and English instructor
Location NB Valerie, continuously cruising, United Kingdom
Introduction I found the canals and narrow boats from my TV in America in 2009. I began researching them, found Les Biggs' blog and emailed him. We became friends over the Internet. He came to the U.S. in October of 2010 and visited as a guest for one week. It was the best week of my life at that time. We had so much fun! And we fell in love. Les returned to the States in February 20111 and proposed to me. I flew over to England in May 2011 for three weeks aboard NB Valerie--just to make sure it would work. It did! Les and I returned to Pullman, Washington and Cloudhouse where we lived together after being married on June 18th 2011 on Kamiak Butte, just outside Pullman. I gave up my career at Washington State University, our lovely home, most of my belongings, and moved to Britain to live "happily ever after," with my soulmate Les, who sadly died of cancer on January 24th, 2017. I continue to cruise on my own in our lovely floating home.
Interests Writing, cooking, walking, medicinal herbs, painting with acrylics, reading, dancing, laughing with friends, enjoying the glory of this life and the beauty of this world.

Never mind the turtle. Don't you think you're sure to win?

Yes! Victory belongs to those who dare. Ben Franklin said "Energy & persistence conquer all things." Jackson Brown Jr. said, "Let perseverance be your engine and hope be your fuel."
