Introduction	Twenty years ago Vicky lived a pretty normal sort of life: work, friends, beer…all the usual stuff, before deciding to take a bit of time out and go to the Med for a year… which is why she ended up, quite by chance, in the city of Genoa on the Italian Riviera. After spending a great year of a lot less work, more friends and even more beer she decided that the lure of sunshine and the ‘Dolce Vita’ was too good to give up and decided to stay for one more year. One thing led to another as they say and almost twenty years, a husband and a daughter later she’s still there. ‘Tales from the Harem’ is a blog about the bizarre society that she lives in, observations and comments in the land of ‘bunga bunga’, an attempt to understand why there hasn’t been a civil uprising and an attempt to get one going!
