Occupation Visual Artist
Location Karachi, Pakistan
Introduction I studied visual art with a concentration in Ceramics at Bennington College Vermont, USA. Bennington College and its inter-disciplinary structure have lead me to explore the visual arts as a whole, enriching it from other areas of study such as music, literature and writing. I am currently involved with art-making, teaching and art administration. I feel that my work in all aspects is enriched by diversity and variation. By working from several platforms at one time I am able to connect better and provide greater perspective to my work. My 3D artwork mainly consists of clay forms and structures, which are worked upon with drawing and mark making. I mostly use local materials, which allows me to work efficiently, and keeps my work connected to its surroundings. Most of my ceramic work is fired experimentally or with organic fuel, and I do not hesitate to appropriate it with other materials. Collaboration with artists of other mediums interests me. I am also very keen on initiating new programs and projects, which involve people, public art and awareness. At present I am working as a artist and educator.
