| Introduction | Currently on Apprenticeship course in UCSC. I retired from the Indian Army in the rank of Brigadier General in 1997, after 33 years of service. With full support of my wife and children I created a Non Profit registered Charity with my life time savings to help the community. Since then have been serving my community in Bhimtal in the hilly state of Uttara Khand, India. Bhimtal is close to Nepal and Tibet border and is located at a height of 4573 feet above sea level. We inter act with farmers in remote areas up to heights of 9000 feet, teaching them the benefits of organic farming, helping with seeds and seed saving, and assist in getting better price for their produce. In addition we provide holistic health services to the community, including an ambulance service between remote villages and hospital. I teach preventive health and essentials of healthy living to the community, specially women and children, as I consider them as future foundation. The Non Profit also helps children by providing books and stationary, clothes and meritorious scholarships. |
