| Introduction | Hello potential readers (mostly Professor Vernon and classmates!). My name is Lauren and this blog will eventually be my final project for History 2610, a course that examines the history of women in America. The purpose of this blog will be to explore popular literature through the ages, starting with colonial times, and discuss the portrayal of women in those works. Towards the end of the semester, I will compare those aforementioned literary perspectives of women to those offered by popular contemporary novels, novels like Fifty Shades of Grey. Yes, I have read the series and will be discussing it at length so staye tuned :) |
