| Introduction | I am Head of Policy at the British Academy, and was previously Director of Education at UCL's Department of Science, Technology, Engineering and Public Policy where I helped to set up a new professional masters programme in Science and Engineering and Public Policy. Before that I was Head of Policy at the Royal Academy of Engineering. I also write and speak on a range of issues relating to engineering, technology, policy, ethics and philosophy. My main interests are set out in my book book looking at engineering from a social, cultural and philosophical viewpoint. Entitled 'Engineering: A Beginner's Guide', it was published by Oneworld in August 2009. The views here are my own. |
