| Introduction | Bonjoir! My name is Maurice Ravel. I am a French composer best known for my orchestral work, Bolero. I am originally from Ciboure, France. I later moved to Paris, France to study music at the Conservatoire de Paris under Gabriel Fauré. I like all types of music. I like American Jazz, Asian music, and traditional folk songs. I am not a person for marriage but I have had long relationships. I was never able to enlist in the First World War because of my age and health. I became an ambulance driver. People would sometimes call me “Swiss Watchmaker”. It was referring to the intricacy and precision of my work. Well au demain! |
