| Introduction | What does it mean to serve God in this world? That's the question that animates me. My response to this question has taken many forms. I have worked as a union organizer, lived in a tipi and ran an art magazine. Somehow I managed to find my true calling as a rabbi and a teacher. |
| Interests | I read voratiously. Mostly dense non-fiction, but I'm getting better. I like to think a lot. I enjoy intimate conversation. Exercise or anything fatiguing. |
| Favorite movies | Thunderheart. Anything where Val Kimer digs deep I think is an instant classic. |
| Favorite music | Old Soul Records. I'm a sucker even for the sweet stuff like Sam Cooke. I got the Rhino Soul Hits of the Seventies 'didn't it blow ya mind?' as a kid, and well, it blew my mind. |
| Favorite books | The Ethics of Authenticity has been a staple for the last year. Got into it from David Plunkett. Always like The Sheltering Sky, Hundred Years of Solitude, Borges Stories, I think Walking With the Wind is one of the finer memoirs. |
