American Government: a morphed ideology in itself

Introduction	I consider myself an independent, but lean more to the Democratic side of the scale. According to an online Typology test, I'm considered to be in the "Upbeat" typology group. I would say that I have a somewhat positive view on government and where it is heading, but am amazed at how far it has come since the colonial days. I have yet to vote in an election, but if I were able to in 2008 I would've been the first one in line. I am taking this class as a requirement to graduate from high school, but particulary I am taking it at ACC, rather than my high school, because I'd like a more in depth knowledge about the subject. I hope that this class brings me more understanding of how exactly the election process works and how to interpret some of the policies and actions of our government.
