| Introduction | Dr. Joseph Calandrino has been practicing medicine since 1990, and specializes in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. This blog is the latest iteration of "Currents in Catholic Thought," which Dr. Calandrino intends to bridge religion and culture. His interests include the work of the indefatigable Fr. Robert Barron, whose quest to evangelize the culture is fascinating and provocative; the work of John D. Caputo (weak theology, theo-poetics), Jean-Luc Marion (phenomenology and 'saturated phenomenon'); and theology after deconstruction in general. Dr. Calandrino asserts that reason and faith are not, as has been asserted by some, mutually exclusive propositions, but rather inextricably connected by authentic religious attitudes. Addendum: Dr. Calandrino has retired from the practice of medicine. He continues to read and write on medical issues. In addition, he enjoys many hours of fly-fishing and playing tennis. |
